  • What is your favorite summer activity?

I have 2 of them... one is boating on the Wisconsin River in the Wisconsin Dells! Nothing like the majestic scenery of the rocks, trees, hawks, the hot sun beaming on me while the cool water splashes on my skin...

And the other is just sitting our on our deck on a warm night, tiki torches lit, listening to the neighborhood sounds while sipping on a drink, talking with my hubby. Moments like those make the workd stop moving and time seems to last forever.

John Travolta sang it right in Grease- thoooose su-hummer, ni-hiiiiights!

I just answered this Featured Question; you can answer it too!

  • Ahh, the Good 'Ole Days....

What is it about reminicing that gives us some kinda youthful high? Our spirits are lifted and we become a smiling zombie? Then the rest of the day we are comparing the good ole days to the tainted here and now...

So I'm in the car yesterday morning, and Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!" comes on. I immediately got taken back to my apartment living room where I grew up, and saw myself just glued to the coolest TV channel ever- MTV.

So later in the evening, I just felt like laying around (and with 4 kids that doesnt happen too much  ) and flipped through the TV channels. The movie "Back to the Future" was on. Wow. Another blast from the past. I felt like I just got mixed in with a bunch of old memories. It felt pretty neat and I wanted to go back to the past!

So what is it about a simple song from years ago or a short movie clip that transforms us to a place we used to be at? We envision a place, a date, and better yet- a feeling. An emotion that allows us to remember our youth, our innocence (or not so innocence lol).

I'm 39 yrs. old, so. the 80's were my genre. The 80's rocked, man! MTV- All Music, All the Time! VJ's were the raddest! Big feathered hair- complimets of Aqua Net, bright outfits that the colors didnt match, dark eyeliner...every teen girl wanted to have Molly Ringwald as their bestfriend, every teen girl wanted to BE Madonna...Rollerskating was strictly for the "in" people- second only to the malls- they were hoppin'- the place to be! The most difficult choice was choosing which to see- St. Elmo's Fire or The Breakfast Club, and your deepest fight with your bestfriend was who was better- Debbie Gibson or Tiffany (Deb by far, of course!). Let's not forget that lingering urge to prder a pizza to your Engligh class, thank to Spicoli "well alright!". Guys had "Flock of Seagull" hair-do's (and we liked it?!) and Michael Jackson was manly in that yellow sweatered poster (yes, I admit it- we thought he was hot!). VCR's were as big a nightstand, and let's not forget legwarmers!! (they tried to come back with those last summer, you know- but, it didn't work out- duh! That's because you have to wear them with spandex! I utilize my time Facebooking now, but, back then, I could sit for an hour slamming an orange Shasta while trying to figure out this stupid puzzle Rubik's cube that I knew I'd never get! Every Saturday morning, I wke up early instead of wating to sleep in like now, and I would anticipate School House Rock while chompin' on PacMan cereal! YUM!

Friendship bracelets were gonna be worn forever, no matter what!(but even then I knew Mullets and rat's tail styled hair had to go!- someone tell my grease monkey neighbor down the street that- he's stillin denial!) I'd even be ok with his choosing the ole pastel polo collar up over that one! Video arcades had games that you put quarters in, and Centepede was my fave! WORD! But I was usually too busy for arcades, since much of my time was gettin' Physical with Jane Fonda on her video. I knew arcades would die out, as Atari and Nintendo came rollin in.

My heart is stirred by a noble theme as I recite my verses for the king; my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer. (Psalm 45:1)

(( Hello. This is my BLOG. I'm happy you checked me out! ))

By the Lord God's great mercy I've been given the gift to write, and the experience to know what I'm writing about. I've been given the Spirit of God for the wisdom to know what to say and how to put it so others can understand.

I enjoy writing and photography. Maybe those passions are within me because I strive for others to see and feel what I am, so they can share in my JOY for LIFE! I spent way too much of my life in ignorance, in selfishness, in anger, in vain. It was most of my life that I sought every avenue for happiness, and no matter how much time I filled with friends, laughter, fun, love, things, etc... I never felt complete. When one void was filled, it was only temporary, so I went on to another thing, and another. I kept busy to feel full. But, I never felt whole. Now, I can honestly say I do! I found TRUTH. I found God- Jesus. He has shown me Who He Is, who I am, what Life is truly about...

So, unlike Truman Burbank from The Truman Show, I no longer live under a false pretense. And like Neo from The Matrix, I have chosen to see the world for what it really is, and fight against the evils that are disguised as reality in our world- fighting the best way I can- through writing and sharing with anyone who cares to read and know, what is what.

I can't promise you will agree with what I write. I can't promise you'll like what I have to say. But I can promise one thing- that i will be open, honest and direct in my blogs, because you deserve the truth clear cut.

All I do and say is to glorify the Lord!
...All you have to do is want to read it

** Go for it! ... Everyone has 30 minutes a day for some truth! **
